SSA Seminar: Delay and Disruption in Construction Contracts

Following on from the very well received seminar on the 17th January 2018, we are excited to be teaming up again once again with Silver Shemmings Ash LLP solicitors, for the next in our series of seminars aimed at increasing your knowledge base, improving your work processes, and giving you the tools you need to make your business as efficient and effective as possible.

The topic this time will be Delay and Disruption in Construction Contracts and will further discuss payment issues and when things go wrong in construction contracts. This will be run by BITA board member and SSA solicitor Henry Hathaway who is not only a specialist in contract law, but also spent 12 years as a structural engineer and project manager in the industry.

This seminar will deliver a practical guide to promote confidence in approaching and dealing with all aspects of delay and disruption, and the difficulties that all too often arise in construction contracts, including notices and claims for Extensions of Time & Compensation Events, the importance of Record Keeping, preparing and defending claims and more. This seminar is one of a series that will form an invaluable ‘pocket’ guide for construction professionals for use in your everyday work. We are delighted to announce that this valuable workshop is free to BITA members.

There will be a Q&A session both at the end and throughout the seminar and you are invited to contact either Julie Camp or myself with questions that you would like to be addressed and answered.

This event is on the 11th April at the Grange City Hotel, 8 - 14 Coopers Row, London, EC3N 8BQ from 3.30-5.30pm. There is a broad spectrum of attendees which range from Funds to developers to contractors and designers, and we hope that you’ll join us after for a drink and some networking at the Hung Drawn and Quartered!
