Thomann-Hanry have been responsible for cleaning the facades of some of the most prestigious buildings in the UK such as the Bank of England, the Ritz Hotel, King’s College Cambridge, and many others.
As part of the ongoing restoration works at the Gresham Hotel, P Mac have contracted Thomann-Hanry to use their unique system to remove almost a century of dirt and grime from the iconic façade on O’Connell Street.
A huge benefit of façade gommage® for a public-facing establishment such as the Gresham Hotel is that it avoids the need to shroud the building in unsightly scaffolding for weeks and business continues as normal. Working from a cabin on a lorry-mounted hydraulic boom the team expect to complete the entire façade in under two weeks. Less disruption to guests, staff and passers-by; none of the security concerns of scaffolding; and stunning results achieved in a barely believable timeframe.
While on site, Mark Styles, Director of Thomann-Hanry, will give a presentation on this unique system. He will examine the issues associated with traditional cleaning methods such as access, water and waste containment and also the impact this has on both building occupiers and the public. He will discuss how the above issues are minimised and the benefits of speed, value and sustainability are maximised.
This course is aimed at architects, technologists, and heritage contractors who want to find out more about new techniques to improve and support the conservation and restoration of our architectural heritage.
