BITA Liverpool chapter off to a great start

The evening was such a raging success that BITA intends on making it the first of many. Approximately 100 people from the construction, shipping, and pharmaceutical industries attended, as well as special guests from Liverpool Football Club, Liverpool Marketing and Liverpool John Moores University.

BITA was also delighted to welcome representatives from Mersey Maritime, Peelports Group, T4C, C&D Properties, Power Hynes Associates, Inver bathroom Concepts and CCBT Ltd.

DWF partner, Mr Michael Kingston was the keynote speaker for the evening and delivered a riveting talk about his business connections in Liverpool and his involvement with BITA. DWF is an elite law firm, with offices in London and Liverpool and with international connections.

Lanigans is a beautiful and friendly, traditional Irish bar in the heart of Liverpool. Irish friends, Richard Lanigan and Wayne Fitzgerald are the proud owners of the bar, which is always there to pour a well-earned pint for the locals. When they wanted to expand from Ireland into the UK market, BITA was there to help them make the connections and friends that they needed to do it. Richard Lanigan also had a lot to say about Irish BITA Chairman, Eugene Nelson, who through his role at MCM Insurance saved him thousands of pounds on his UK business insurance.

This event wasn’t just for networking and exploring what BITA can do for Liverpool business. It was also in aid of the Lighthouse Club – the construction industry’s own charity. BITA has chosen to throw their full support behind this charity in 2016, and their aim for the night was to raise £500.

£265.00 had been raised, and then something very special happened. The winner of the second prize, Michael Daniel Breen who runs Aramco in Saudi Arabia, very generously contributed £235.00 to make up the shortfall. Sometimes in life generosity knows no bounds. Thank you Michael.

BITA is already planning the next event in Liverpool, which will be a construction lunch. These lunches are regularly attended by over 80 people in London and have seen many new friendships made and deals agreed. Partnering with Mersey Maritime, it will be hosted it in the newly constructed and magnificent Titanic hotel. The date will be in July and we will post it on their events page as soon as it is confirmed – www.bita.ie.

BITA would like to thank PJ Lanigan and all his staff for organising the event, supplying the food, and running the raffle. They would also like to thank all of the business people and entrepreneurs who came from as far as London to show their support on the night.
