Do you know about your KVA and charges?

It is the Government’s plan to introduce additional charges for the consumption of energy, where they believe the commercial consumers are not managing their energy efficiently. You are probably not aware of this but each large business is allocated what is called a “KVA”. In simple English, your energy supplier will have noted on your file what they believe your capacity to be and the upcoming legislation will penalise you if you use energy in excess of that amount.

This additional cost will be up to three times the current rates that you are paying.

It's possible that the first thing you will know about this is when you get hit with an enormous bill.

Energy Management Workshop have already completed a review of all their existing clients, KVA’s, to ensure their capacity is set at the correct level. Today, as a fellow BITA Member, they are offering to provide you with a free report.

If they find that your capacity is set at the incorrect level, with your permission, they will then contact your energy provider and ask them to implement the necessary change which cannot be implemented retrospectively but will be implemented from the beginning of the following month.

To allow them to prepare this free report for you, they will need a copy of your current electricity invoice as that will show them your current KVA level.

They will also provide an additional report, which is a review of your overall current costs to ensure that you are getting the best possible deal from your energy providers.

By 2020-21, two-thirds of your energy costs will be made up of Government levies and EMW are fully expecting that the cost of energy in the commercial market is to nearly double within the next 5 years.

If you haven’t already done so, it is time to engage with a professional who will negotiate the best possible deal for you and make sure that you are entirely compliant.

We know you are probably very busy, however, if you want this free advice, just reply to this email saying “please contact me” and if necessary, provide me with a time and a date so that EMW can contact you to discuss how their services can be of benefit to you and your business. Alternatively simply send over a recent copy invoice and they will pick it up from there for you.

In the meantime, here is a link for you to read some more information regarding the current KVA changes.
