Ambassadors Challenge Cup 2017

Well it’s October and that means that the nights are drawing in, the shops are full of Christmas cards, and the winners of the 4th annual Ambassadors Challenge Cup have been announced – Ireland!

In the toughest fought game that the VPAR reps had ever seen, Ireland managed to snatch victory from team GB, winning by 1 stroke. This brings the current score to 3 – 1 to team Ireland, so the GB players need to start getting down the driving range (or perhaps mini-golf) a bit more often or I won’t be able to look Paul in the face.

As always, we would like to thank our generous guests on the day who managed to raise a lot of money for the Lighthouse Club (details to be announced), and Foxhills as well for being such fantastic hosts on the day. Thanks also go to Mark Regan who lead team GB and delivered a particularly rousing battlefield speech, as well as Shane Byrne who headed up team Ireland, and led the way to victory. You can see all the photos of the day (as promised there are no photos of people in the rough!) on Facebook.

The day wouldn’t be complete of course without golf towels, so we would like to say a big thank you to James Mitson from Work and Wear Direct who provided those on the day. It was a wet one, so they definitely came in useful. Work & Wear Direct is one of the UK’s leading companies of Workwear & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and their business model is based on offering great value whilst offering a second to none personal service without compromising on quality. They work tirelessly with their suppliers and customers to build exceptional working relationships. We can certainly vouch for this.

We would also like to thank our hole sponsors Evans Mockler, BKD Wealth Management Advisors, Pearson Consultancy Group, Highgrove Cleaning Products and Merlyn Showers for supporting the Lighthouse and BITA on the day.
